PHILOSOPHY
Pacific Steelfixing Limited recognizes that a better tomorrow begins today, and it is our responsibility to contribute and lead our industry in protecting this incredible country for future generations to come. We actively work towards fostering sustainable practices and encourage innovative thinking when pushing boundaries to meet new sustainability goals and achievements. Our vision for 2024 is to learn more about how to apply te ao Māori holistic principles into our business operations and to better understand how these practices and principles help our company in becoming culturally sustainable. The idea that people have a deep connection to the whenua and everything on it is at the core of te ao Māori. Kotahitanga, or environmental guardianship and protection, is one way this connection is expressed. Māori, who identify as tangata whenua (people of the land), regard themselves as protectors of the land, entrusted with the duty to preserve, safeguard, and improve the environment for future generations.
When it comes to business, this long-term, interconnected perspective of the world involves taking into account the broader social, cultural, and environmental effects of everything we do. Many Iwi and Māori businesses are setting the standard for sustainability in this regard, a lot of iwi and Māori businesses are leading the way in sustainability, and we strive to be right there with them.
